Rough Draft

“It’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday!” It is the obnoxious phrase that constantly stabs your brain every time you hear it and unfortunately, most unfortunately, does not leave your mind.
Don’t get me wrong, YouTube is great but it is also the source of the discovery and expansion of trash that our generation calls music. YouTube in a way is ruining the present generation’s musical tastes. When a video is uploaded to the site and it goes viral, everyone knows about it.
There is absolutely no way you don’t know “Friday” by Rebecca Black. Is this even considered music? Music is supposed to be influential, inspiring and has to transmit a powerful message, like Eminem’s music for instance.
“Gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal” “Tomorrow is Saturday and Sunday comes afterwards” What kind of lyrics are these? If making music was just singing random sentences, anyone could become an artist. Apart from the horrible, meaningless lyrics, Black sings in a detestable monotone voice exploited with auto tune.
First of all, an artist should have great vocals, but Black has the worst vocals in history. And to cover up her voice with auto tune is the worst choice she could have made.
In addition to the terrible lyrics and vocals, it is the most abashing music video every uploaded on YouTube. All of the characters are 13 year old kids that simply do not know how to act. There is such an awkward atmosphere in the music video that the viewers howl from laughter.
When they are supposed to “dance”, the kids pulse their bodies and nervously shake their heads up and down and wave their arms like penguins trying to communicate with monkeys.
Consequently, we have Justin Bieber with his hit song “Baby”.
First of all, a 16 year old boy whom puberty abandoned and left him with a 10 year old voice should not be a singer. His voice is so high pitched it is commonly mistaken by a female’s voice. When he supposively “hits the high notes” he squeals like a dying squirrel.

Op-Ed Outline

Example Intro: Although media has revolutionized society positively in numerous ways, one negative aspect of media is that it transmits extremely terrible music to the world, worsening peoples' musical tastes. Every day society is exposed to ridiculous music produced by people who just want fame and have no experience whatsoever. Their songs contain the funniest lyrics and the most embarrassing music videos made in history.

(Criticize the music and artists as well.)

- Justin Bieber - Baby

- Rebecca Black - Friday

- Nicki Minaj - Stupid Hoe

Example Conclusion: By listening to Justin Bieber, Rebecca Black and Nicki Minaj, society is digging its own grave. What would real artists say about this type of music? The transmission of the trash or "music" that society refers to nowadays is a consequence of having such advanced media. It cannot be stopped because unfortunately, it is what catches people's attention. In the next few years, someone, or somehow, should stop this trash that we are connoting as real music.

Media Leads to Terrible Music

A negative effect of media is that it is transmitting terrible music. The songs are so atrocious that their respective music videos become viral, spreading through the internet, radio, news and even on television. They have ridiculous lyrics and senseless and laughable actions in the music videos. The songs are so stupid that they become extremely popular due to their stupidity. Some of the artists that produce these kinds of songs have been discovered on YouTube, where anyone can upload videos of themselves singing, with not prior experience whatsoever. Media also leads to more and more people uploading videos of themselves singing and dancing absurdly, believing that they will get discovered.

For example, "Baby" by Justin Bieber is the most viral video in the YouTube History. The lyrics are so nonsensical and the setting is so childish that it makes complete sense that it became the most hated video on YouTube. Currently, the video has 789,214,187 views and 3,041, 348 dislikes and a billion hateful comments. It is shameful that the music we listen to today has become like this.

Another unbelievable video is "Friday" by Rebecca Black. It has not been as viral as "Baby" but I personally think this song is worse in every way possible. It has the dumbest lyrics, most annoying monotone voice and most awkward and embarrassing music video.

"Stupid Hoe" by Nicki Minaj. Do I have to explain? The title says it all.

Thanks to media, our society's musical tastes are worsening by the day. Everyone is forced to listen to trash like this. What would real artists such as Guns N' Roses, John Lennon and Nirvana say?

Media Violence Leads to Agression in Kids

Skateboarding is not a Crime

Skateboarding is a very controversial issue. Skateboarders fight for their right to skate in the streets, while society is displeased due to the noise created and the danger of skateboards flying out and harming people, invasion of private property, etc.
