Media Leads to Terrible Music

A negative effect of media is that it is transmitting terrible music. The songs are so atrocious that their respective music videos become viral, spreading through the internet, radio, news and even on television. They have ridiculous lyrics and senseless and laughable actions in the music videos. The songs are so stupid that they become extremely popular due to their stupidity. Some of the artists that produce these kinds of songs have been discovered on YouTube, where anyone can upload videos of themselves singing, with not prior experience whatsoever. Media also leads to more and more people uploading videos of themselves singing and dancing absurdly, believing that they will get discovered.

For example, "Baby" by Justin Bieber is the most viral video in the YouTube History. The lyrics are so nonsensical and the setting is so childish that it makes complete sense that it became the most hated video on YouTube. Currently, the video has 789,214,187 views and 3,041, 348 dislikes and a billion hateful comments. It is shameful that the music we listen to today has become like this.

Another unbelievable video is "Friday" by Rebecca Black. It has not been as viral as "Baby" but I personally think this song is worse in every way possible. It has the dumbest lyrics, most annoying monotone voice and most awkward and embarrassing music video.

"Stupid Hoe" by Nicki Minaj. Do I have to explain? The title says it all.

Thanks to media, our society's musical tastes are worsening by the day. Everyone is forced to listen to trash like this. What would real artists such as Guns N' Roses, John Lennon and Nirvana say?
